Barrier-free studies led by the world’s first university professor with deafblindness

Researchers with disabilities such as deafblindness, visual impairment, and physical disabilities conduct theoretical research on barrier-free issues and disability studies. We also carry out research across a wide range of areas in education for children and adults with disabilities, independent living, labor, social participation, legal systems and policies, and artistic/cultural activities, drawing on the perspectives and experiences of the people who face these challenges.
